Cebu Transcentral Highway or as we call it "Vanilla Busay"

I'll be the first to admit that this isn't my favorite route, but there are many reasons to do climb up Transcentral Highway via Busay.

First reason is that during the rainy season, my fave routes (mostly inner roads) tend to be wet and muddy. So when I'm in the mood for a quick clean-ish ride, I may choose this route.

Second reason is that if you want to see many other cyclists and great cafe stops, this is the route to do.

Third reason is that this route leads to arguably the best road riding in Cebu. Once you get past Buak, the riding is really really good. Not too much traffic, the roads seem to breathe a little more, and there is scenery on all sides.

Take note - this may be the most popular route in the city, but this is not an easy route. The gradients are steep, the roads are tight in spots, there's usually heavy traffic, and the climbs never seem to end.

Enjoy!
